I’m back in the studio, this time with model Jerusha. The theme for this series was again, an abstract sci-fi Blade Runner warrior theme, using three lights, and of course, a video projector as the background. For the “How To” for this type of look, please see the video below.
HOW TO CREATE ARTISTIC PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY BACKGROUNDS BY USING A VIDEO PROJECTOR
I once again, used a video projector as my background in-studio, so here’s the video showing exactly how it’s done: “How to Create Artistic Portrait Photography Backgrounds by Using a Video Projector”. For this series with model Jerusha, we were going for a Sci-fi warrior look, so her brown leather outfit styling also complimented the color gels nicely. This was shot using a LINK strobe as my key light (from Paul C. Buff) along with two Paul C. Buff DigiDee DB800’s as my kicker lights. The key light was a large 47″ octobox with a teal colored gel applied, and the key lights were strip boxes with orange gels applied.

We actually shot multiple outfits for this lighting setup, and I can shore more to my Instagram and Photo Journal in the near future. By using a video projector as a background, the possibilities are truly endless, with backdrop swap-outs being as easy as clicking a button.
