Spotify Artist Artistic Album Cover Photoshoot

Performed a really fun and creative shoot with electronic music artist Adjoin. These are two brothers from the Bay Area who produce electronic music, with an influence from electronic artist ODESZA and more. This shoot was to refresh their Spotify music presence with album cover photos along with some banners for Spotify.

For the album cover shots, these shots were taken wide, with my Nikon Z6ii and five different strobes with colored gels, all shot in front of the teal seamless backdrop from Savage Universal. By shooting ultra-wide, we had the option to crop down for an album cover, or use these as banner options for their Spotify music profile where the background could be extended if needed digitally. Then for phase two of the shoot, this was where I added some continuous lights (in combination with the strobes) to drag the shutter for some in-camera motion blur. This effect is not done in Photoshop and is all done in-camera. The subjects stay still and as I fire away with a slower shutter speed, I mov the camera to create the blur. This lighting setup is with six lights, where five are strobes and one is a continuous light with a red gel applied. The result makes for some really nice in-camera effects that are perfect for the theme of a creative album cover:
