It’s fall, nearly winter actually, and just the right time to change up the look of headshots with some autumn/winter colors. As usual, I went to my favorite light, the DIY ring light that I built, and this time I switched up the background color to Evergreen from Savage Universal. This is a deep forest green as you might expect, and it compliments well with the amber tones of this model’s dress. I personally love seamless backdrops because they can completely change the mood of a portrait or headshot, and allow for an inexpensive way to match color palettes, wardrobe, etc. Here are a few examples of the Evergreen backdrop colors when used in headshots/portraits:
To get an idea of how background colors and styling play an important role, here are some similar headshots with the same model, however, this time using the Thunder Gray backdrop, with a complimentary wardrobe.
Again it’s important to pair complimentary colors and wardrobe together to make a headshot/portrait that stands out. The Evergreen color here is a nice change of pace to highlight the fall/winter colors and really bring out the mood of the season.
