I’m a huge fan of Mike McGee Photography. On Instagram, I have been following his work for a couple of years. When I needed new headshots for my SF casting account, I contacted Mike immediately and schedule a photography session at his studio. The studio was easy to get to, in a nice location and it was set up very professionally to the trade. Mike was happy, positive and friendly. He was an effective coach and his direction was very helpful. We shot several different looks/styles and I felt comfortable and at ease the entire time. Mike delivered the proofs via email on the same evening of our shoot. His final edited images were delivered via Dropbox a few days after I made my selections. I am very satisfied with my headshots. I highly recommend Mike McGee Photography and I will hire him again in the future.

We met in Burlingame and I had an awesome experience shooting with him! Mike is so full of energy, easygoing and fantastic to work with. We walked around the city and with his great eyes for photography, we were able to find many beautiful/unique places to take photos. A week or two after our shoot, I sent in an application with Mike’s photos to a modeling agency in San Francisco in hopes of getting represented. Low and behold, they offered me a contract! I happily accepted and they even used the lovely photos Mike took of me for my online agency portfolio with them! I really couldn’t have done it without Mike! Regardless of if you’ve never stepped in front of a camera or you’re an established model, Mike is the perfect photographer to go to! His work is incredible and he quite obviously brings a lot to the table. After years of modeling, you can sometimes find yourself falling into a place where you’re not sure what original ideas could be left for a photo shoot– Mike, however, is a genius in every way and will find a way for you to get the most out of your shoot. His photos are stunning, and he has this amazing attention to detail that will leave you with nothing short of greatness in the final pictures. On top of that, he is an amazing guy! He’s the definition of being kind, genuine, respectful, and extremely enthusiastic. You never find Mike without a smile on his face, and he always helps to make you feel your best and maximize your confidence. I couldn’t have chosen a better photographer! Mike showed up on time and prepared. When I got there, he had already scouted out several potential locations, even though he was doing the shoot in my city, Palo Alto. He is super friendly and he immediately put me at ease. It can be a bit awkward to have photos taken of you outside in public locations where people are walking by, but his attitude and work style made the whole process really fun.
And the pictures came out great! We had discussed the types of pictures we’d take, the lighting, and locations. He totally delivered. The pictures looked how I hoped they would and I couldn’t be happier.
I will definitely go back to Mike again whenever I need photos taken.

Seriously had such a blast with Mike during our shoot! I had originally found Mike on instagram and absolutely LOVED his work. I was in need of headshots to send to agencies so I then contacted him to get my headshots taken. He was very quick at responding and we scheduled a date that worked for the both of us! When I had arrived to the shoot, I immediately got an awesome vibe from him! Very easy to talk to and just overall friendly! I did not once feel awkward behind the camera. I feel that when I comfortable with a photographer I am able to do my best when I shoot. He made me feel super confident! Mike McGee is an amazing photographer! He is friendly and very easy to talk to. As someone who often hates taking pictures Mike makes any shoot painless and fun.At times I’m way too self conscious and choosy about which angles and sides work best and Mike is beyond accommodating. He’s got an arsenal of locations and pose ideas sure to flatter.Shoots with him are so relaxed and often over before you realize you’ve taken hundreds of photos. I have very little experience modeling so I definitely lucked out when a friend recommended Mike McGee Photography. I showed up to a really bright well kept studio in a cool part of Berkeley and Mike greeted me with a warm and very approachable personality. It eased me up a bit since this was my first shoot. He is professional, definitely knows what he is doing and had so many great options and suggestions to help me get the exact look I was going for. He cracked some jokes and did a great job capturing everything on camera, from the laugh out louds to the more serious shots. Overall, the experience was great and I absolutely loved the product. Mike is such a professional and efficient photographer. I showed up to his well equipped Berkeley studio and he had already set up the lighting and calibrated everything by guessing my height. This means we could get snapping asap!
In a two hour span we did several wardrobe changes, in-studio photography and some street/nature shoots! The outside of his studio is a very beautiful industrial area perfect for shooting.
Did I mention his personality? Mike gives off a super down to earth vibe which instantly made me comfortable and relaxed to work with him.
I am so pleased and excited with how the photos came out.
Would highly recommend for corporate or new model headshots as Mike knows how to frame you to bring out your best.
